APPLICATION FORM – FARMLAND OWNERS

Please be sure to fill out this form completely. We will use this information to determine which “Farmland Seekers” might best fit your farming situation. The more information we have, the easier it will be for us to help you.

We will then be in touch with you via email when available and have you approve a “listing description” about your farm before it goes out on our Master Farm List. While there is no cost to enroll in Maine FarmLink, to ensure the future of the program, we encourage everyone to become members of Maine Farmland Trust.

  • Resource:You can use this ONLINE SOIL MAP TOOL to locate your farmland on the map. Simply type in your farm address.
  • If possible, could you obtain a copy of your deed from your town office and mail it to us? This will help in making aerial maps of your property
    Electronic copies that can be emailed are best, but hard copies can be scanned and returned upon your request. We stress the importance of photos, as this can be the piece that draws in the interested parties.
  • You can upload multiple images in one zip folder or use the optional additional photo fields below. You can also e-mail additional photo(s) to Sue Lanpher at info@mainefarmlink.org. Make sure to include your contact information in the e-mail.
  • NOTE: It is most important that the farm listing information reflect the situation you have in order for you to draw interest with likely matches.

Because the majority of Maine farmers are now of retirement age, getting new farmers onto the land is imperative. Many farmers who wish to retire do not have anyone to take over the farm. Likewise, many people who want to farm do not have the family or resources they need to get started. FarmLink is a collaborative endeavor connecting next generation farmers to the land and resources they need to keep Maine’s farms viable now and into the future.
