This page is designed to provide Maine farmers and farm owners with the information and support they need to find and successfully complete farm transfers to family members or new farmers.

Program Eligibility

To join the program you must own a farm or farmland in Maine. 

If you have a farm or farmland that you would like to find a new farmer for, please fill out the Application Form (225K PDF) and mail it to the office.

If you do not own farmland in Maine, but you know of farmland that is in transition or for sale or lease, and you would like to see it transferred to a new farmer, please contact the FarmLink Coordinator.

If you are transferring your farm to a family member, please contact the FarmLink Coordinator.

Once your application is received, we will contact you for more specific information and to discuss your vision for the future of your farm.

Program Services

  • Listing of your farm to our list of experienced Prospective Farmers.
  • Access to the Service Provider List, and all other farming resources on this site and at the Maine Farmland Trust office.
  • Farm transfer support from the FarmLink office and partnering organizations, including one-on-one assistance from the FarmLink coordinator.
